Portstewart Concert

The Portstewart Concert will take place in Crescent Play area from 7pm and this years headliners are the much heralded Pailis Swing Band! Following this, the magical pyrotechnic display will be even bigger than before as four of the Global Stars are set to light up the sky followed by a fireworks display! 

Global Stars Dusk Display

This years Portstewart event returns even bigger than before as this year there will be not just two aircraft’s but FOUR Global Stars taking to the skies! Headed up by Mark Jeffries (winner of multiple titles for his aerobatic prowess) and featuring three other former British champions, expect an exciting mix of close formation air displays and pyrotechnic magic with their trademark WiFi controlled smoke. The display is set to take place from approximately half 8

Palais Swing Band

The Palais Swing Band  have a repertoire that includes all the sounds of the 1930’s,40’s and 50’s and modern day jazz hits! Specially for Air Waves Portrush, their set will feature a medley of Jimmy Kennedy hits! Jimmy is well known for his connections to Portstewart as it is where he penned the iconic song, ‘Red Sails In The Sunset’ which has been recorded by musical icons like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, and Barbara Streisand. Many however, may not know that he also wrote other well-known songs including the Teddy Bears’ Picnic and the Hokey Cokey! The band will kick off at 9pm until 11pm with a short break during the fireworks.

7.30pm – 8.30pm: Hosted by Brian Moore, there will be plenty of live entertainment including a Michael Jackson dance tribute act and a performance by Portrush Music Society’s up and coming production Sister Act

8.30pm- 9pm: Global Stars quartet pyrotechnic dusk display

9pm – 11pm: Palais Swing Band

9.30pm: The swing band will take a break as the skies will burst with colour for the 2019 Air Waves Portrush fireworks display
